Description
From the Designer
For the past couple years myself, along with James White (Signalnoise Studio), and Dave Howlett (Strange Adventures Comics & Curiosities) have been working with Jane MacDougald (Owner of The Dart Gallery) to curate pop culture art shows at her gallery in downtown Dartmouth. We've done shows based on The Simpsons, The work of Jim Henson, vintage video games and more. Our next show is a tribute to Star Wars. Many of the artists who have been involved in past show are children of the 70s and 80s and with the excitement of the new movie coming out, we couldn't turn down a chance to create something based around this iconic franchise. My piece in particular is based on the Battle of Hoth, Thinking back to watching these movies as a kid in the late 80s on VHS recordings of the TV broadcasts (commercials removed of course), borrowed from my uncle, the Hoth Battle is always the first scene that comes to mind. Luke and Dak along with the rest of rogue squadron in their tiny snowspeeders taking on the giant AT-ATs, in my mind it's always a much more epic than when you go back and re-watching it but i still love it. -Eric Miller, Dartmouth Clothing
