A great example of using halftones for aesthetic purposes. Notice that the more you pull back from the image, the more photorealistic it appears, as the halftone dots form more of a gestalt, losing their individual identities. This is the basic principle behind CMYK printing, only hijacked and used for spot color in it's own way.

The client was looking for a classic Motown inspired show poster for their 2 night sold out shows in Los Angeles. Mayer's management said that Mayer had them seek Jared out specifically, as he found him through Google searches.
